Server Settings for Connecting to OCS
Incoming Mail Server Settings
- Incoming Mail Server: mail.calpoly.edu
- Secure IMAP: Port 993, enable SSL
- Secure POP: Port 995, enable SSL
- Incoming Mail Server Login name: Cal Poly User Name (e.g. jmustang@calpoly.edu)
- Incoming Mail Password: Cal Poly password
Outgoing Mail Server Settings - (For More Detail )
- On Campus
- Outgoing Mail Server: mail.calpoly.edu
( Requires Authentication)
- Outgoing Mail Server Login name: Cal Poly User Name (e.g. jmustang@calpoly.edu)
- Outgoing Mail Server Password: Cal Poly password
- Outlook and Outlook Express: Port: 25, enable SSL
- Oracle Connector for Outlook: Port 587, do not enable SSL
- Netscape, Thunderbird, Mac Mail, Entourage: Port 587, enable TLS or enable SSL
- Outgoing Mail Server: mail.calpoly.edu

- Off Campus
- You can either use your Internet
Service Provider’s (ISP’s)
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), or
you can configure your client
to use the Cal Poly Authenticated
SMTP Server. If you use your ISP’s
SMTP server, you will need to
obtain the server name from your
ISP.
If you use the Cal Poly Authenticated Outgoing Mail Server, you will need to set it for authentication by using your full Cal Poly User Name (e.g. jmustang@calpoly.edu) and Cal Poly password. Cal Poly Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): mail.calpoly.edu. Refer to On Campus settings above.

- Calendar Login Name: Cal Poly User Name (e.g. jmustang@calpoly.edu )
- Calendar Password: Cal Poly password
- Cal Poly LDAP Directory: ldap.calpoly.edu.
- The search base is dc=calpoly,dc=edu. (*Note: There are no spaces in this setting.)
